Interior Painting:  Starting with safety, property protection, preparation, ending with cleanliness. It is our policy to respect your property and belongings and maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment.

General Surface Preparation:

• Clean all surfaces They must be clean, dull, dry, and free from mildew, chalk, dust, rust, dirt, loose or peeling paint, grease, wax, efflorescence (salt build-up) or other foreign material.
• Prime where appropriate; major color changes, raw drywall & wood, adhesion problem areas.
• Sand glossy, scraped areas with 150 grit papers then wiped clean.  Surfaces such as doors, which must be very smooth, are sanded lightly between coats.
• Caulk all joints along base, door casings, chair rail and all trim to body areas, 1/8” to ¼” cracks in wood.  Spackle, putty or caulking is applied after the first coat of primer.
• Mask all non-painted surfaces.  No drips or over-spray are permitted on furniture, floor coverings, windows, doors, or hardware.
• Drop clothes will be placed on all non-painted surfaces (floors, floor coverings, and fixtures) during spraying, brushing, and/or rolling.  Other removable items (furniture, wall hangings, window coverings, cover plates) will be taken down and replaced after paint is dry.

Cleanliness:  Most drips, splatters or over-spray are cleaned immediately and if missed will be cleaned-up prior to a final inspection.  Though every precaution is taken to avoid spills, it is our rule to leave things in better shape than what we found them.  All cans, rags, etc. are disposed of in a manner consistent with local environmental requirements.
